Rinku Singh Lands Himself into Trouble After Playing in Abu Dhabi T20 League

Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Rinku Singh has landed himself into trouble after playing in a foreign T20 League which is totally barred by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). As per the rules, no active cricketer can sign contract with overseas clubs for their T20 Leagues. Rinku Singh played a match winning knock as he helped Deccan Gladiators to win the Abu Dhabu Cricket’s Ramadan T20 Cup. He scored 104 runs and bagged a couple of wickets as he led them to a victory.

The performance helped Rinku Singh bag the Man of the Match Award. However It might be trouble for Rinku after his stint in the foreign T20 League. Rinku played just 5 matches from Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL and managed to score just 37 runs in 5 encounters. His decision to play inn the tournament might not go down well with others. Meanwhile Irfan Pathan is also fighting to find a place in thw Caribean Premier League after putting forward his name in the CPL players draft list.

The quarter final of the Ramadan T20 Cup was held on 14th and 15tg May respectively. It was followed by a couple of semi-finals on 16th. It was Gladiators who defeated New Medical Centre by 31 runs to win the title.

Meanwhile an official release by Abu Dhabi Cricket reads that Rinku had also played for the Alubound Tigers in the 2017 Ramadan T20 tournament. Rinku had then smashed a 60 balls 94 as the defeated One Stop Tourism led by Rohan Mustafa by three wickets. It was made public by a press release.

Rinku, then too, had smashed a 60-ball 94  to beat UAE skipper Rohan Mustafa’s One Stop Tourism (OST) by three wickets, added the release. As per reports, even Yuvraj Singh has sought BCCI’s permission to play in other T2 foreign leagues after calling it quits from other forms of cricket.
