Meanwhile, the second, third, and fourth T20Is have been relocated from Queensland and Adelaide to minimize biosecurity risks by reducing travel across the country. The Sri Lankan Cricket Board announced that Rumesh Ratnayake, the former international who has played 23 Tests and 70 ODIs in a career spanning from 1982 to 1993, was till recently working as the fast bowling coach at the National High-Performance Centre.

He has already functioned in the same capacity when Zimbabwe toured Lanka for a 3-match ODI series which the hosts won 2-1. Mickey Arthur left the team in November 2021 and the board continues to find a suitable replacement. Rumesh Ratnayake will continue to act as the stop-gap.
