Former Indian cricketer and selector, Saba Karim, will be appointed as the next BCCI’s General Manager, a report in TOI suggests. The post was vacant after late MV Sridhar resigned from the post due to conflict of interest allegations.
Sridhar was the one who went to West Indies for the limited overs series just after the ICC Champions Trophy after Anil Kumble – former Head Coach – resigned from the post due to an untenable relation with skipper Virat Kohli.
BCCI had invited applications for the post of General manager in October and Saba Karim, who was one of the shortlisted candidates, will take over the post soon. He was already the front-runner for the post due to his international experience and the fact that he has also served as the selector of Indian cricket team.

He is currently part of the commentary team during the India-Sri Lanka series, and before this as well, he was seen commentating during the ongoing home season of Indian cricket team.
The former India stumper will report to Rahul Johri – CEO of BCCI, the report adds.
Saba Karim, who played international cricket for three and a half years, played a total of one Test and 34 ODIs. He also played 120 first-class and 124 List A games for Bengal and Jharkhand.
Meanwhile, the report in TOI also adds that India A and U19 coach, Rahul Dravid, along with India women’s skipper, Mithali Raj, will meet COA and former India selector Jatin Paranjpe to discuss the organizational structure of NCA on December 12 in Bangalore.
Rahul Dravid is already at NCA in Bangalore where U19 players are undergoing camp before the team flies to New Zealand in days to come for the U19 World Cup. Prithvi Shaw, the captain, along with pacer Ishan Porel though were allowed to miss the initial phase of camp so as they could play quarterfinal games of Ranji Trophy for their respective states.
