It seems like Bharat Arun is going to stay with the team as a bowling coach for his brilliant work in the recent past. The board is satisfied with the performance of Bharat Arun, under whom, the Indian Bowling raised to newer heights. Meanwhile, the batting coach Sanjay Bangar is under the scanner following India’s poor batting display against the Kiwis.
Sanjay Bangar, who has been the batting coach of India is under pressure after India’s debacle. Despite staying with the team for a long time now, Sanjay Bangar failed to settle the issues of the team in the middle-order department. The never-ending problem of the number 4 spot has been the major problem before heading into the tournament and it remained the same.
Bharat Arun has been phenomenal:
If those privy to the developments are to be believed, Arun could turn out to be a unanimous choice considering the performance of India’s pacers in all formats of the game.
“In the last 18 to 20 months, the work put in by Arun has been phenomenal. The current Indian attack is considered to be the best in the longest format. Mohammed Shami back at his best and (Jasprit) Bumrah’s consistency are a few things Arun must get credit for. It’s up to the selectors but they might find it difficult to replace him,” a senior BCCI official told PTI on Friday.
Sanjay Bangar failed:
According to reports, the BCCI is unhappy with the way Sanjay Bangar dealt with India’s middle order. The Men in Blue crashed out the Cricket World Cup after their semifinal defeat to New Zealand at Old Trafford.
“Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been performing much before Bangar came into the fray. He has no role in their success. However, his job was to create a few solid options in the middle order and we have seen in the World Cup that he has failed miserably in that,” the official added.
R Sridhar was also brilliant as a fielding coach:
Meanwhile, Jonty Rhodes, who has been brilliant as a fielding coach also applied to the role of fielding coach. He has achieved tremendous success and the CV of him is certainly impressive. However, the board would acknowledge the services of R Sridhar.
“Rhodes is a big name and his candidature can’t be ignored. However, this also needs to be taken into account that how the team’s fielding performance has been,” the official said.
