Former Indian cricketer and long-time cricket commentator Sanjay Manjrekar, who was recently removed from the commentary panel, has recently revealed his choice for India’s best commentator.

After finishing the playing career, some confident cricketers decide to take the role of the cricket commentator, which is also a very challenging role. While some cricketers follow this occasionally, some former cricketers follow this in regular ways. Sanjay Manjrekar is one of the ex-cricketers who became a regular commentator.

The top-order batsman Manjrekar served for the Indian team from 1987 to 1996. He played 37 Tests and 74 ODIs where the right-handed batsman scored 2043 runs (average 37.14) and 1994 runs (average 33.23) respectively.

But, during his commentary career, Manjrekar faced many criticisms, especially in recent times, due to his point of views on some particular players and other systems. While recently he has been removed from the commentary panel, a source has also revealed that the former Indian cricketer can return to this role in future.

India’s best commentator: Sanjay Manjrekar on Harsha Bhogle

On the other hand, Harsha Bhogle, who played only small level cricket, is a very popular commentator in India. Many experts even appreciate his presentation as a cricket commentator. Recently, during an Instagram live session with ESPNcricinfo, Manjrekar was asked what comes in mind very first when he hears the name of Harsha Bhogle.

Manjrekar replied, “India’s best commentator.”

Harsha Bhogle started his commentary career with All India Radio at the age of just 19-year-old. During the 1991/92 cricket series (involving India) just before the 1992 Cricket World Cup, Harsha became the first Indian commentator to be invited by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

For a long time, Harsha has served as the top-level commentator. He has received many praises from various sources.
