Sanju Samson Smashes 48-ball 91, Twitter Reacts

Finally, Sanju Samson makes it into the India A team and within no time, he showed his class with the bat. The flamboyant batsman smashed a brilliant 91 off 48 balls to help India A side smash 204 runs in 20 overs. He was helped by Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer, who contributed with decent knocks.

Sanju Samson registered his highest List-A score of 91 as India A posted a strong total of 204/4 against South Africa A in a rain-curtailed match that was reduced to 20-over a side after a lengthy delay owing to a wet outfield at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.

Shikhar Dhawan scored 51:

He raced to his fifty off just 27 balls and looked set for his maiden triple-figure score in List A, but was caught brilliantly by Janneman Malan off the bowling of Geroge Linde in the 16th over. Samson showed his class right from the ball one after Shreyas Iyer opted to bat first.

Iyer contributed 36 off 19 with the help of five fours and one six while Shivam Dube made a run-a-ball unbeaten ten. Hendricks finished with 2/29 in his four overs while Linde was only another wicket-taker claiming 2/43 in his four overs.

Shikhar Dhawan scored 36-ball 51 runs to his name. During his knock, he was struck on the neck while attempting to play a scoop shot. The game delayed for a brief time but he was fine to resume his innings.

India A have already sealed the five-match series, winning the first three matches, while South Africa A managed their first win of the tour, claiming the rain-affected 4th unofficial ODI yesterday. This would be the perfect knock for Samson ahead of the T20I series against South Africa.

He has been in the news for a long time to head into the Indian side. Probably, the 91-run knock would help him to catch the eyeballs of the selectors.

Sanju Samson's highest List A score in domestic is 90 but today he got 91 against an international A side. After around 80 list A games it's strange a player who got a ton in IPL don't have a ton in list A career.

Impressive Sanju Samson. The most likely name missing from the Indian t20 squad. Rishab Pant should have someone around, who might give him scare for his place. Also, Tushar Despande really like his bowling temperament, hitting hard lenghts. IPL team do watch this man.
