The 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is in full swing and we have already witnessed the completion of eight matches. Some of the matches in the tournament has already been nail-biting.
We have seen fortunes fluctuate from one team to the other. Even yesterday, it was an enthralling contest between the Mumbai Indians and the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Chasing a moderate target of 148, Sunrisers were cruising in the chase for the major part of the innings.
However, some exceptional bowling by young leg-spinner Mayank Markande and a sensational penultimate over by Mustafizur Rahman brought the Mumbai Indians right back into the game.
But, Billy Stanlake has something different in the mind, as he struck a boundary off the final ball of the match – to seal the victory for Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh limited-overs’ skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has sat down to analyze the performance of the two champion Bangladesh players Mustafizur and Shakib Al Hasan.
While Shakib is the most experienced player in the country, Mustafizur has just started his journey merely three years ago.
Mashrafe feels that the balance between the senior and the junior members of Bangladesh team was the reason behind their impressive performance in the year 2015.
The fast bowler marred by injuries was asked why the young generation of Bangladesh are failing to be consistent. Mashrafe replied by saying that it all depends on the application of the brain.
“It is simple – the confidence. Cricket cannot be played only with physical strength. One must apply his brain. You cannot be a good cricketer until you learn how to use your brain properly,” he said.
In addition, speaking on Shakib’s success in international cricket Mashrafe said,
“Shakib usually applies his well in the field to take prompt decisions. He is brave enough not to hesitate in the field.” his well in the field to take prompt decisions. He is brave enough not to hesitate in the field.”
“A cricketer has to be courageous enough for taking decisions because chances of failure are always there. Shakib hasn’t come to this far all of a sudden. He passed through the fear and uncertainty in his early days in the team,” Mashrafe said.
The 31-year-old southpaw Shakib Al Hasan has featured in 256 T20s in which he scored 3,992 runs. He registered 14 half-centuries in 234 innings.
The prominent face of Bangladesh Shakib further went on to bag 297 wickets at an average of 20.40.
