There is a lot of suspense about how will be the one to get the place of the wicket-keeper batsman in the T20 World Cup squad. Indian Head Coach Ravi Shastri, as well as the team management, has the big responsibility to choose among the current options MS Dhoni, Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson. Shastri has recently revealed the parameters according to which the selection will be done among the above three options.
Ravi Shastri has earlier said that selection of the veteran MS Dhoni, who is currently unavailable, will most likely depend on his performance in Indian Premier League 2020. Talking about Rishabh Pant, he had degrading performance in the last year, but in the last ODI series against West Indies, he maturely played with the bat. But he is still being tested as an option. Also, his one more unsatisfactory performance may give Sanju Samson a chance who is waiting for an opportunity to prove himself.
MS Dhoni or Rishabh Pant will win the race
Ravi Shastri has cleared the criterion on the bases of which the selection committee will conclude to a decision for the T20 World Cup Squad. He said that the selection would be done, taking into account multiple factors, including experience and conditions in the host nation – Australia.
“You’ll have to see who’ll do the job at what number, (and) what role. Whos the best guy, you’ll take experience, youth and flamboyance into account and who fits into that number the best whether it is X, Y or Z.

“And as well be playing it Australia well have to figure out who’ll adapt to the conditions best. All three names that you took are explosive batsmen and will be suitable for batting at number 4 or 5 because we need power at the back.
“So you’ll have to see consistency, experience and conditions. All that will come into play when the selectors sit down to pick the World Cup squad,” he added
If we take experience as a factor, Sanju Samson will not be considered as the choice because he has only played two T20Is.
