Sir aap kamaal hai: Kabaddi star Anup Kumar thanks Virender Sehwag for his congratulatory message

Tributes were pouring in from all corners after India’s historic triumph in the Kabaddi World Cup final against Iran on Saturday (October 22).

The hosts made a stunning comeback and won their third successive title under the new format. The tournaments favorites were completely stunned after Iran took a commanding 18-13 lead after the conclusion of the first half. The Iranian defenders had Indian raiders in all sorts of trouble in the first half with some solid defending. However, the hosts led by a magnificent Ajay Thakur found their rhythm in the second half and eventually won the game by 38-29. Thakur was the star of the night after claiming 12 points for the hosts in the final. Nitin Tomar was also a major contributor with six points.

The whole country was celebrating the stunning win and the Indian Twitterati was also not too far behind in wishing the Kabaddi players for their outstanding show. As expected, Virender Sehwag led the celebrations on the social media and as usual, his posts were a huge hit.

Taking a dig at Piers Morgan and England’s dismal record in cricket World Cups, the former cricketer tweeted:“India invented Kabaddi & r World Champs for the 8th time.Elsewhere some country invented Cricket & r yet only good in correcting typos.”

Sehwag’s tweet was obviously targeted to Piers Morgan’s last tweet in which he tried to correct Sehwag’s Engish after the former Indian batsman trolled England following their loss to India in Kabaddi World Cup.

And like the millions out there, Indian Kabaddi star Anup Kumar had to admit that the former swashbuckling opener is brilliant on Twitter. Thanking Sehwag for his congratulatory message, Anup tweeted:“Sir aap kamaal hai. Thank you!”
