Snehasish Ganguly, former India captain Sourav Ganguly’s elder brother has been hospitalized late Friday night. Snehasish Ganguly, who underwent a heart procedure earlier this year, suddenly began vomiting following which he was rushed to a hospital.
Sourav Ganguly, the current BCCI president, is keeping a track of the situation from London where he currently is attending the 2nd Test against England.

SSnehasish Ganguly Hospitalized After He Began Vomiting
Snehasish Ganguly, the current secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), represented Bengal in Ranji Trophy playing 59 first-class matches and scored 2534 runs. During a routine health checkup in January this year, it was revealed that the 55-year-old suffered from Single Vessel Disease (RCA) that required angioplasty.
That was a few weeks after Sourav Ganguly himself underwent angioplasty after a sudden blackout and chest pain while working out at his residence. Currently, in the UK, he was seen attending the ongoing India-England 2nd Test at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, alongside his wife Dona Ganguly, and BCCI general secretary Jay Shah.
“Came here as a player first in 1996… and then as captain… enjoyed the game at Lord’s today as an administrator… India was and is in a good position all the time… this game of cricket is majestic,” Ganguly posted on his Instagram account as he attended the opening day of the contest.
As per reports, Sourav Ganguly is in London to discuss the future of current India head coach Ravi Shastri who is planning to step down after the ICC Men’s T20 World later this year.
Sourav Ganguly Underwent Angioplasty Twice In January 2021
The president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Sourav Ganguly was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Kolkata on January 27 after discomfort and chest pain. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly was discharged from the city hospital three days after undergoing an angioplasty. This was the second angioplasty performed on the former Indian Cricket captain during this month.
Sourav Ganguly was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in the city on January 27 after discomfort and chest pain. The angioplasty was performed on January 28 by a team of doctors which included well-known cardiac surgeon Devi Shetty. On January 2, Sourav Ganguly was admitted to Woodlands Hospital and an angioplasty was performed on him the very same day. He was discharged on January 7.
Snehasish Ganguly is a former Indian first-class cricketer. Although he didn’t play international cricket like his younger brother Sourav Ganguly, Snehasish Ganguly had a career with Bengal which spanned ten years. After retiring from cricket, he focused on his family’s printing business.
