Sourav Ganguly, the president of BCCI was impressed after KXIP and Rajasthan Royals match which is terms as the reason behind IPL’s success as the best league in the world. KXIP lost their second close game after their first loss against Delhi Capitals which was decided by Super Over. They won against RCB by 97 runs though.
KXIP openers Mayank Agarwal and skipper KL Rahul stitched a partnership of 183 runs for the opening wicket with the former scoring 106 as KXIP posted 223/2 but Rajasthan Royals batted brilliantly and won their consecutive second game by 4 wickets and 3 balls to spare. The nail-biting finish was the highest successful run chase in IPL.

The left-handed batsman played a stellar knock of 53 as Rajasthan Royals gained an improbable victory. Sanju Samson who had played a knock of 74 runs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) followed it up with an 85-run knock against Kings XI Punjab.
Skipper Steve Smith registered an innings of 50 against Kings XI Punjab as well. For KXIP, Mayank Agarwal had scored a century which was his first hundred in the IPL. The right-handed Mayank Agarwal played a knock of 106 runs off 50 balls with the help of 10 fours and 7 sixes to take the side’s total to a mammoth 223/2.
Openers Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul put on 183 runs for the first wicket. The duo created the record for the highest opening partnership for KXIP in the IPL and the second-highest opening partnership in the IPL. This victory was the highest successful run chase in IPL history.
Rajasthan Royals has now won both their opening two matches in the IPL 2020. The side will next play against Kolkata Knight Riders on September 30 while Kings XI Punjab will face defending champions Mumbai Indians on October 1.
