Everyone wants their loved ones to be with them at a time when all the countries are suffering from the most infectious coronavirus. Former Sunrisers Hyderabad player Anand Rajan has requested the Indian government to bring back his father, who is reportedly stranded in Iran, the most affected country from COVID-19 after Italy and China.

Rajan has featured in three seasons of Indian Premier League, playing for Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Madhya Pradesh cricketer is concerned about his father. Speaking to Indian Express, the cricketer expressed the same.

“As the Indian government has brought back many Indians from Iran, I am hoping father comes back too.”

As reported by the health ministry spokesperson on State TV, Iran’s death toll from the new coronavirus has increased to 1,812, with 127 new deaths in the past 24 hours. And the country’s total number of infected people has reached 23,049.

“My father told me that the embassy will only clear travel of those people whose medical examination they conduct by themselves. I was told that the embassy doesn’t have the necessary medical kit to deal with this, so time is running out. With no international flights allowed for the next one week, we don’t know what will happen,” Rajan said.

“The sudden crisis has made us all worry. We want him back. At least he will be with us,” the 32-year-old medium-fast bowler said.

Earlier, Rajan has tweeted for help to the Indian government while he is still waiting for the response.
