Sri Lanka vs India 2017: T20I Win Marks MS Dhoni’s 250th International Victory
Jan 9, 2019 at 4:00 PM
The one-off T20I at Colombo was special for more than one reason. Under the ever impressive leadership of Virat Kohli, the Men in Blue are emerging as a modern day cricketing giant, marauding all sides coming their way. The 9-0 score line across the Sri Lanka tour just sums up how lethal India have been and how merciless, Kohli as captain has been.
The victory on Wednesday was extraordinary for one person in particular. It was a memorable one for none other than MS Dhoni, as the former skipper brought up his 250th international win.
With the win, Dhoni became just the 14th cricket to be involved in 250 international wins, and the fact that he features on this list is a proof in itself of how magnanimous a certain MS Dhoni is. If indeed Dhoni carries on till 2019, he has all the chances to get to 300 international wins as well.
The win also saw Virat Kohli being delighted and lauded the side for a fine performance.
“Credit to all the hard work the boys have put in. Evidence of the fact how hungry the players are in Indian cricket, and how the bench strength is coming along so beautifully. Very, very happy as a captain. I look to back my strengths in T20 cricket, look to play good cricketing shots. It’s something I’ve practised very hard to mould my game to all formats because I want to play all games for India,” said Kohli.
