In this article, we look at the stats of top 10 Teams with most matches played in T20I. On 29th February 2015 Pakistan became the first team to play 100 matches in T20 cricket when they faced UAE in the Asia Cup T20 tournament played at Mirpur, Dhaka. The first ever T20 match was played between New Zealand and Australia on 17th February 2005, and the kiwis are in the second position in the stats of top 10 Teams with most matches played in T20I. Since its inception, the T20 format has become a success.

The first T20 World Cup in this format was held in 2007. In that tournament, India became the winner of the inaugural tournament. Since then there have 4 T20 World Cups being held. England, Pakistan, West Indies and Sri Lanka each has won the tournament once.

The sixth edition of the World T20 Cup will be held from 8th March to 3rd April.

New Zealand has played the second most T20 matches in the World with 88 matches, followed by South Africa with 84 matches.

England and Australia have played the same amount of matches which is 81 each but Australia has more wins so they are placed in the fourth position. The fifth place goes to England.

The sixth place in this table goes to Sri Lanka with 78 matches, followed by West Indies with 71 matches. India, being the top nation playing cricket, has only played 65 matches in the span of 10 years.

The last two places go to Bangladesh and Zimbabwe with 53 matches and 48 matches each respectively.

In terms of win percentage, Sri Lanka tops the list with 63.3%, followed by South Africa with 60.7%, followed by India with 58.4%.

The fourth best percentage was Pakistan with 58%, followed by Australia 49.3%. The next three positions go to New Zealand with 47.7%, followed by England with 46.9%, and West Indies with 46.4%.

Bangladesh has a win percentage of 32.8% and Zimbabwe has the worst win percentage with 20.8%.
