Superior Chepauk Super Gillies defeats Kanchi Warriors in a rain marred match

Persistent rain and all-round show from the players made this contest interesting and were on the edge of their seats till the winner was decided. The match was to start on time but the game was delayed due to rain before the start. As a result, a total of 7 overs per innings were cut down.

Baba Indrajith, captain of Ruby-warrior called for the right side of the coin and made a surpassing decision to bat first on a wet ground. The results were not surpassing as the team couldn’t even resist 13 overs and were bowled out for 97. Inrajith himself scored a duck. An innings of 25 from the Ranji trophy player M Shahrukh khan helped the team to put up a defendable total on the board.

Chepauk Gillies had a tough task to chase the total keeping in mind the factors which were not favourable to batsmen. The tea lost early wickets but SV Saravanan and J Gowjith Subash controlled the fall of wickets and let the run flow easily. Both shared 59 runs for the third wicket thus putting the team in commendable position. R Satish teamed up with Saravanan to take teams boat past the winning total. Sathish did a Dhoni by finishing the game in style with a six off M Prabhu. Chepauk Super Gillies won the game by a margin of 7 wickets and 7 wickets with 7 balls still to go.

SV Saravanan was award man of the match award for his half century which helped Chepauk Gillies to win the match easily.
