Just after former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni announced his international retirement, veteran Indian batsman Suresh Raina has also bid adieu to the great game of cricket. A very close friend of Dhoni and his most trusted man, Suresh Raina had been away from team India for quite a long time now.

It was a long speculated that Raina’s international career has come to an end. However, Suresh Raina, himself, did not come out and accept it publicly. The southpaw has been one of the greatest left-handed batsmen that the country has ever produced, His records in Test cricket were not astonishing but his limited-overs career with the Indian team was rather illustrious.

Breaking News: Suresh Raina Announces Retirement From All Forms Of International Cricket

As MS Dhoni, Raina also announced his retirement via social media post. He took to Instagram and wrote, “It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781. With my heart full of pride, I choose to join you in this journey. Thank you India. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳”

Suresh Raina: One Of The Best That There Have Been

Raina played a total of 18 Test matches for team India and scored a total of 768 runs with an average of 26.48. He had one century and seven half-centuries to his name in the longest format of the game. He played a plethora of ODIs for team India as his cap includes a total of 226 ODI matches for the India National Cricket Team wherein he scored 5615 runs at an average of 35.31.
