The legendary Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne has recently revealed his favourite 17-man Australian squad for the Ashes 2019.
Australian first-class season (2018/19) is in the final path as Victoria and New South Wales are playing the Sheffield Shield final. Meanwhile, last Thursday (28th March), Shane Warne revealed his Australian squad for the upcoming Ashes.
England will host the Ashes 2019 just after the completion of 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. England and Wales will host the upcoming World Cup from 30th May to 14th July. Before the Ashes 2019, England and Australia both will participate in the forthcoming World Cup.
After the World Cup tournament, England will host the five-match Ashes Test series. England and Australia will play the Ashes series from 1st August to 16th September. This series will also be a part of the inaugural 2019–21 ICC World Test Championship.
Australia will begin the upcoming Ashes series as the defending champions. However, Australia hasn’t won the Ashes series in England since 2001. The Australian national cricket team is desperate to end this drought.

Shane Warne came with some surprising names
Meanwhile, Shane Warne has come with some surprising names in his Australian squad prediction for the upcoming Ashes series. The legendary leg-spinner has revealed his Australian team on his official Twitter account.
Both David Warner and Steven Smith are in Shane Warne’s squad, while the wicketkeeper Tim Paine will continue to lead the Australian Test side.
For the upcoming Ashes series, Shane Warne hasn’t selected both the Marsh bothers (Shaun Marsh and Mitchell Marsh).
Surprisingly, the left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc is not in Shane Warne’s playing XI. However, he is in the 17-man squad for the upcoming Ashes series.
Meanwhile, Shane Warne has chosen James Pattinson in the playing XI. The 28-year-old Victorian pacer played his last Test in February 2016. After recovering from his injury, James Pattinson has picked up 20+ wickets in the ongoing Australian first-class season.
Marcus Harris and Matthew Wade, the top two run-scorers in the ongoing Australian first-class season, are in the 17-man squad. Both have scored 1,000+ runs in the 2018/19 Sheffield Shield. While Shane Warne believes that Marcus Harris should open with David Warner, the wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade is in his non-regular squad.
Uncapped Josh Philippe is in the 17-man squad along with Joe Burns and Kurtis Patterson. The young pacer Jhye Richardson is also in this squad.
