VVS Laxman

This very very special batsman from India is known as one of the finest Test cricketers of all time. VVS Laxman has played 134 Tests in which he managed 8781 runs at an average of just under 46. He scored 17 centuries including his career-best of 281 against Australia at the Eden Gardens. His innings of 281 is voted as the best test innings in last 50 years. Although his ODI career lasts for around 9 years, yet he was unlucky to find a spot in the national side during World Cups. It was quite clear before 2003 World Cup that the wristy batsman would make it to the side but the last minute change brought Dinesh Mongia into the squad.
