Twitter Reacts As CAC Reappoints Ravi Shastri As India’s Head Coach
India’s head coach Ravi Shastri has been reappointed to his post by Cricket Advisory Committee. The news was confirmed by the Committee on Friday in Mumbai. It was expected that Ravi Shastri will continue to be the head coach of the team as Indian captain Virat Kohli and the rest of the players share a close bond with the former all-rounder.
Ravi Shastri also had an impressive record as the head coach of the team. Under Shastri’s tutelage, India managed to win 11 Test matches out of the 21 they played with seven losses and three draws. India was able to savor success for the first time on the Australian soil on the Tour Down Under.
Shastri’s reappointment was on the cards.
Furthermore, India enjoyed a successful run in the 50-overs version under the tenure of Shastri. The Men in Blue were able to register 45 wins in 63 ODIs with 15 losses, two no-results, and one tie. Moreover, India came up with solid performances in the shortest format of the game as Virat Kohli-led team won 25 matches of the 37 they played in Shastri’s stint as coach.
Consequently, Ravi Shastri was expected to hold his position of the head coach. Meanwhile, the other applicants who had applied for the job were Lalchand Rajput, Robin Singh, Tom Moody, Mike Hesson, and Phil Simmons.
India has an immaculate record under Shastri’s tenure.
Anshuman Gaekwad stated that Shastri is familiar with all the problems and he was the right man to once again coach India.
“Being a current coach, knowing the boys well, knowing the problems well, what has to be done. He was well versed with the system. Somebody knows the system and somebody who knows the players well has an advantage,” said Anshuman Gaekwad, one of the members of the CAC.
Shastri will continue to serve the Indian team till the 2021 T20 World Cup, which will take place in India.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Shastri’s appointment.
The lads played well at the interview for the Indian cricket coach, but the process went as fast as a tracer bullet, and cricket, sorry, Ravi Shastri was the winner.

If it is due to Kohli that Shastri is India's coach, I hope Shastri also coaches RCB in the future.

@RaviShastriOfc retained as chief coach of India. Kapil Dev said CAC members Anshu Gaekwad, Shanta Rangaswamy and he marked the candidates out of 100 independently. Moody finished no.3, Hesson no.2 and Shastri no.1. It was a close contest says Kapil

After all…Anshuman Gaekwad was right. Ravi Shastri to continue as India’s Head Coach. And it’s a two year extension. Till the end of World T20 in 2021.

In a world that is so unpredictable, there was but one certainty. No surprise that Ravi Shastri continues as coach of the Indian team.

I don't mind if #RaviShastri continues to be the coach of the team as long as Kohli is happy. Because that's the most important thing. I don't mind even if Kohli wants Rakhi Sawant to be India's next coach. Whatever works for him, works for me.
