IPL 2018: Twitter Reacts as Dwayne Bravo Plays a Magical Knock to give Chennai Super Kings a Perfect Comeback
The all-rounder from Windies, Dwayne Bravo played a gem of an innings as he took Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to one wicket victory over defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the first match of the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Meanwhile, Bravo had a perfect patch up with CSK as the franchise returned to the league after two years.
Batting first Mumbai posted 165 runs after a late cameo from Krunal Pandya. Although, MI had a slow start losing both their openers within four overs. Since then, Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav paired to take Mumbai close to 100.
Since the departure of Yadav, Pandya hammered the bowlers to take the total to 165.
However, it was a bad start for the CSK as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Debutant Mayank Markande and Hardik Pandya returned with three wickets.
Struggling 118 for 8 in 16.3 overs, Bravo had something different in mind. After a slow and steady start, he absolutely hammered the bowlers to all-round the park. He struck seven sixes and three fours on his way to scoring 68 runs off 30 balls.
Moreover, he took 20 runs in the penultimate over by Jasprit Bumrah before getting out, thus leaving seven runs to win in the last over.
Meanwhile, injured Kedar Jadhav did the rest hitting a six and four of the fourth and fifth delivery.
The former cricketers went gaga over Bravo after he played one of his best knocks to hand CSK a crucial win. They lauded the Trinidadian for his outstanding efforts with the bat.
However, CSK will want many more such innings from Bravo in this edition.
