India won the decider against the West Indies by 67 runs at Wankhede on Wednesday to clinch the three-match T20I series. The hosts posted a par score of 240 runs after the West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard won the toss and decided to put the opposition in. Pollard’s blistering knock of 68 runs off 39 balls kept the visitors in the fray during their run-chase but the Windies had too many runs to chase.
Furthermore, no other batsman apart from Pollard was able to get going with the bat. Moreover, Evin Lewis could not come out to bat after he suffered a knee injury while fielding in the Indian batting innings.
India seals the series.
Meanwhile, India’s catching was far more impressive in the all-important decider apart from a dropped catch from Mohammed Shami. The Indian bowlers were also smart in their variations to keep the tourists in check. Kuldeep Yadav Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Deepak Chahar scalped two wickets each.
On the other hand, India had managed to score their third-highest score in the T20Is as they posted 240 runs. The hosts got off to a flying start as openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were able to hit the ground running. Both the flamboyant batsman timed the ball to perfection to add an opening alliance of 135 runs.
Rohit completed his fifty off just 23 balls which is his second fastest fifty in the T20I format. On the other side, KL Rahul continued his good form going as he completed his half-century off just 29 balls.
Rahul scored a fine knock of 91 runs off just 55 balls with the help of nine fours and four sixes. Furthermore, Virat Kohli was also able to get off the blocks in a jiffy as he got almost everything in the middle of the bat. Kohli completed his fifty off just 21 balls as he continued his sublime form going. The Indian captain scored 29-ball 70 to add the finishing touches.

Interesting that only one Indian player, Rohit Sharma, has played more T20 games at the Wankhede Stadium than Kieran Pollard.

Anyone know if there is something Virat Kohli can't do on a cricket ground?

This is the first instance of three batsmen scoring 70-plus runs in a T20I innings.

Absolutely delighted with the way @klrahul11 player this series. Please don’t forget he is a good enough keeper in this format and keeps wickets in domestic cricket. Opens up a huge option.
