As they say in the game, ‘Test cricket is the real form of cricket’, they mean it. Playing underneath an unclouded sky for eight long hours and for five consecutive days isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. In the ongoing fifth Test in Chennai, players are persisting to perform well and are sweating it out for that.
India’s wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel is attracting some attention for an unusual reason first, but an understandable one too. The Gujarat-born stood behind the wickets for 157 overs and then wore the batting pads to open alongside KL Rahul in the absence of injured Murali Vijay. Guess what? He stood at crease for 47 overs before getting out on 71. The figures thus club to 199 overs of his stint at the crease and Twitterati were totally awe-inspired by his effort.
The left-handed batsman was good with the gloves on, both while keeping and batting. He batted well, scored runs at a good pace and assisted Rahul on the other hand too. Scoring his second fifty of the series, his innings was marshaled by seven boundaries, timed well to be honest. His ability to persist under the sunny weather is incredible and appreciable at the same time.
Here’s have a look at the best of the twitter reactions on the same.
157 Overs busy in Wicket Keeping..

199 Overs Parthiv Patel Put his effort now its time for rest!

Parthiv Patel is my favourite batsman in the world right now.
Made a comeback at 31.
After an OK career.
Played fearlessly.
