Two Indian Openers from Mohali break a 37 year old record Pakistani record
Mohali Openers Shubham Gill and Nirmal Singh smashed 587 runs for the first wicket in an U16 inter-district match, in the process, breaking a 37 year-old record made by Pakistani openers, claims Punjab Cricket Asscoiation Secretary Sushil Kappor at Mohali on Wednesday.
This now officially becomes the highest partnership for the opening wicket in recorded cricket matches.
Sushil Kapoor went on to say that the previuos record was held by two Pakistani batsmen – Wahid Mirza and Mansoor Akhtar- who went to score 561 runs in 1977 at Karachi National Stadium between Karachi Whites and Quetta.
The match is being played at Mohali Cricket Association stadium, Mohali. Subham Gill scored 321 runs in just 272 balls, smashing 49 fours and 2 sixes, while Nirmal hammered 231 runs.
