The first week into the tenth edition of IPL and one can easily gauge the fact that why no Indian umpire till date has made it large in the ICC Elite list.
Barely 24 hours after the game between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders was marred by some atrocious umpiring by the Indian officials, things looked no different at Indore as well, where the Kings XI Punjab are currently taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
On a decent wicket, the Royal Challengers had no thoughts other than batting first, but the move backfired in no time, as skipper Shane Watson soon made his way back to the hut. With opener, Vishnu Vinod following his skipper soon, in walked the in-form batsman Kedar Jadhav.
Jadhav, fresh from a fine knock of 69 in the previous game against Delhi Daredevils held the aces along with comeback man AB de Villiers. However, on a delivery from pacer Varun Aaron, which bounced quite a bit, Jadhav was caught off guard and it hit him high on the pad.
Despite Jadhav jumping, the ball seemed to be clearly going above the stumps. Umpire C. Shamshuddin, however, had other plans, as he thought otherwise. The umpire raised his finger, much to the dismay of the commentators.
The replays clearly showed the ball going above the stumps and it turned out to be another poor decision from an Indian umpire. Below, is the video of that dismissal.
