An all-round show from Krunal Pandya and half-centuries from Pathan brothers helped Baroda to trump Assam and register a win by 92 runs. Baroda had a tough start as they lost two early wickets with a score of 11. The third wicket partnership of 60 runs between Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya helped the team to row their boat ahead but still thy needed someone who could dominate opposition bowlers.

It was the moment when Yusuf Pathan, who was not the part of the original squad, arrived at the crease and stayed there till the 48th over of the game, scoring 71 runs off 79 deliveries. His partnership of 91 runs with his brother Irfan Pathan was the pick of the day as both of them once again helped their team when stuck in a difficult situation.

Irfan Pathan was so impressed by the contribution of his brother that he even praised Yusuf’s innings on social media.

Assam, which chasing a total of 234 started losing wickets right from the start and contributed the trend before being dismissed on a total of 141, losing the game by a  margin of 92 runs.

Krunal Pandya was the star for Baroda as his all-round show was the best role of the day. He contributed 72 runs with the bat and also grabbed four wickets. He was well supported by Swapnil Singh, who bagged three wickets.
