Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016/17: Rishabh Pant Back In Form, Scores 99 Against Tripura
Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant, who is going through a rough patch, finally got back his ‘Midas’ touch as the former under-19 player went on to play an innings of 99, to steer his state team Delhi. Rishabh was going through an abysmal form in Vijay Hazare Trophy this season as he had just compiled 13 runs in the three innings and questions were raised over his form but he answered everyone with this innings.
Once again, Delhi, after getting a good start failed to convert it into a big one as openers Shikhar Dhawan and Gautam Gambhir went back in quick succession, after putting up a good total for the first wicket. The responsibility again fell on the skipper to perform the duties with the bat and Pant this time, did well as he played a innings of 99, sharing 142 runs with Dhruv Shorey for the third wicket to keep Delhi in a race to a big total.
At the moment, Delhi was four down with a score of 297 at end of 46 overs and was looking in a good position to put a total of around 320-330 on the board.
