SuryaKumar Yadav has been included in the Mumbai squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy after he issued an apology to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
He had retweeted a tweet from a senior journalist in which the media man questioned his exclusion from the side for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. This action from the Mumbai batsman irked the MCA and he was straight away sent a showcause notice to explain his actions. SuryaKumar, in his reply, said the company that manages him had retweeted the tweet and not him.
MCA let him off the hook with a warning, asking the cricketer not to repeat such things in future.
This was not the first time when Suryakumar was in the MCA dock as in the last season as well, he was warned for not commenting on selection matters when he raised questions over the exclusion of Jay Bista from the squad for the final of Ranji Trophy.
In 2014 season as well, he found himself in controversy when he left the captaincy in mid of the Ranji Trophy season, saying he wanted to concentrate more on his batting. However reports suggested that there was a feud between players and captain in the dressing room, which led to this action from the batsman.
Mumbai will kick off its campaign on February 25 against Gujarat at Chennai.
