The former Indian skipper MS Dhoni once again stood tall, this time for Jharkhand, when his state team was in a tough situation. He came out to bat when Jharkhand was four down on a mere score of 43.
Soon after Dhoni’s arrival, they suffered another jitter as Ishank Jaggi, the man in form went back to the pavilion even without adding a single run to the scorecard. Kaushal Singh, the succeeding batsman showed some promise but Abhuday Kant Singh wrecked havoc and dismissed him as well, bagging his fourth wicket of the day.
Then came the moment when Dhoni got a steady and long term partner in form of Shahbaz Nadeem and along with him, he shared 151 runs for the sixth wicket to help Jharkhand cross the short hurdles, followed by putting up a final score of 243 on the board.
Nadeem’s role was not just restricted to give keep Dhoni on strike as he played a total of 90 deliveries and scored 53 runs.
Meanwhile, Dhoni continued to fetch runs for himself before finishing his innings with a score of 129 as he got out on the last delivery of the game. His innings comprised of 10 fours and six sixes.
Jharkhand ended their innings with a score of 243 at the completion of 50 overs.
