Want to be a professional cricketer?
Former skipper of the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, Kumar Sangakkara has highly praised the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Sangakkara said that he genuinely believes Virat Kohli can become the greatest cricketer after Sir Donald Bradman.
Virat Kohli is arguably the best batsman in world cricket at the moment. He is racking up records for fun, and he is likely to reach the summit in this list in coming times. The flamboyant Indian skipper has already smashed 70 international centuries so far and just seems to get better with days going by.
In an online interaction on sports broadcaster Radhakrishnan Sreenivasan’s The RK Show, Sangakkara hailed Kohli’s fitness.
Kumar Sangakkara Lauds Indian Skipper Virat Kohli
“Virat is phenomenally fit. I know, and I have seen and heard of his amazing commitment and dedication to being the best that he can be, both on and off the field—physically, mentally and skill-wise,” Sangakkara said.
“He has the opportunity to become maybe the greatest after the Don [Bradman],” said Sangakkara.
Virat Kohli Has Been Phenomenal For Team India
Kohli is now eighth on the list of the most runs scored by a batsman in international cricket. The Delhi-based star has a very long career ahead and the kind of form that he has been in, it seems a considerable possibility that Virat Kohli will lead this chart too.
Kohli has grabbed a whole lot of national and international honours during his stint as an international cricketer. He bagged the Arjuna Award in 2013. He was honoured with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, in 2017. Apart from it, he has featured in a lot of ICC teams over the years across all formats and won the best cricketer award multiple times.
