Virat Kohli Is The Michael Jordan Of Cricket: Nick Compton

Former England cricketer, Nick Compton has heaped praise on Indian skipper Virat Kohli and said that he is the Michael Jordan of cricket. Virat Kohli is arguably the best batsman in world cricket at the moment. He is racking up records for fun, and he is likely to reach the summit in this list in coming times. The flamboyant Indian skipper has already smashed 70 international centuries so far and just seems to get better with days going by.

Kohli is now eighth on the list of the most runs scored by a batsman in international cricket. The Delhi-based star has a very long career ahead and the kind of form that he has been in, it seems a considerable possibility that Virat Kohli will lead this chart too.

Nick Compton Heaps Praise On Virat Kohli

“What Virat (Kohli) has done for that Test team is very much in terms of the competitive nature in which he has led. I don’t think you get a man who wants to win more than him & pushes other individuals. What comes to my mind is Michael Jordan’s Netflix programme ‘The Last Dance’”, Nick Compton said.

“Jordan for some team-mates wasn’t always the best friend they were looking for, however, when it comes to the performance he pushed them, he drove & he demanded high standards. Virat Kohli is a similar type of character in that sense,” Compton said in a conversation with sports presenter Dr. Yash Kashikar on his Instagram live show ‘Say Yash to Sports’.

Virat Kohli Has A Plethora Of Accolades To His Name

Kohli has grabbed a whole lot of national and international honours during his stint as an international cricketer. He bagged the Arjuna Award in 2013. He was honoured with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, in 2017. Apart from it, he has featured in a lot of ICC teams over the years across all formats and won the best cricketer award multiple times.
