On the eve of the do or die to match against Australia Indian vice-captain Virat Kohli said: “it is difficult to be consistent as a team in this format.” India have to beat Australia to qualify for the semifinal.

Kohli termed MS Dhoni’s decision to run and remove the bails instead of throwing was brilliant.

He also said, “I want to be an improved cricketer, even if by 0.1%, after every practice session.”

“This format requires you to be at the top of your focus during 120 balls batting & fielding” Virat stated.

Talking about captain MS Dhoni  and Ashish Nehra the sensational batting star said, “Dhoni’s biggest quality is calmness, Nehra is also very calm.”

He also said that the last over the discussion between MS Dhoni and Ashish Nehra was important for team’s victory against Bangladesh.

Asked about pre-match planning as Australia will pose a difficult challenge, Kohli said, “Too much pre-planning, as far as I am concerned, does not work.”

Virat also said that winning 2011 World Cup is a special experience for him. “2011 WC final was an overwhelming experience for me.”

Kohli while talking about his approach to the game he said it is “Important to focus on the cricket ball that is coming towards you.” He further added, “I am pretty sure about my plans.”

He also said that he will play against with a lot of passion.

Asked what are the reactions prevail in a cricket field, he said, “Reactions are always there – positive, negative or neutral.” “Most players choose to stay away from any kind of reaction.”

When asked what is his plan to win the match, he said, “Can’t take anything for granted in a virtual quarterfinal.”

Meanwhile, a journalist asked him about hitting six, he said “Whether you hit a 60m six or 90m six, it’s always six runs. So just winning matters.”

A journalist also asked him what do you do off the field; some movie, some ‘Puja-path’, or read some author to gather focus ahead of a big game?

Kohli, in a lighter vein, replied: “Do I look like a ‘Puja-path’ type of guy?”
