Virat Kohli Should Retire If He Fails To Score 100 In Melbourne, Says Mitchell Johnson

Former Australia speedster Mitchell Johnson just cannot stop targeting Virat Kohli. No matter what the situation or what the context is, Johnson just finds an opportunity to aim his gun at Kohli. The history between the two dates a long way back. In 2014 at Melbourne, Johnson had thrown the ball and hit Kohli when attempting a run out, sparking a heated debate.
“After play he came out and said he had ‘no reason to respect’ me. He lost me then,” Johnson had famously said after that heated moment.
Since then, the left-arm pacer rarely squanders a chance to criticise the India batting superstar. Recently, he had slammed Kohli, calling him ‘disrespectful’ and ‘silly’ for his on-field behaviour in the second Test against Australia. Kohli and Tim Paine were involved in several verbal duels in the second game. The game then ended on a sour note as Kohli gave a frosty handshake to Paine, looking in no mood to do the formalities after India lost the game by 146 runs.
“At the end of the match, you should be able to look each other in the eyes, shake hands and say ‘great contest’,” Johnson wrote in a column for Fox Sports.“Virat Kohli could not do that with Tim Paine, shaking the Australian captain’s hand but barely making eye contact with him. To me, that is disrespectful.”
Later, he said that Ajinkya Rahane would be a better skipper than Kohli in Tests. In his latest tirade against Kohli, Johnson said that the right-handed batsman should retire if he fails to score a century in the ongoing third Test.
The debate between him and a fan began when he posted a picture of a road on his Twitter profile, highlighting the nature of the surface of the wicket in Melbourne. The Indian fans started to take shots at Johnson, who then went on to issue Kohli a challenge.
Replying to one of the Tweets, Johnson wrote that Kohli should retire if he fails to score a 100 on this track. Here is the conversation between Johnson and the Indian fan:
