Virat Kohli will be having a special team meeting before leaving Australia as India are low on morale after dramatically collapsing in the second innings of the Adelaide Test against Australia by registering their lowest Test score of 36 eventually conceding an early lead of 1-0 in the four-match series.

Virat Kohli Will Try To Motivate Team Members By Addressing Them Collectively And Individually To Lift Morale: Source

After registering their lowest total ever in Tests although India had the upper hand by virtue of 1st innings lead, no wonder the morale of the Indian team members will be low.

For the same reason, regular skipper Virat Kohli will be addressing the entire team in collective session, initiated by coach Ravi Shastri, on Monday. Virat Kohli will be departing from Australia on Tuesday.

“We have lost one game very badly but 3 tests are still remaining. Virat will try to motivate the team members by addressing them collectively and individually. The morale of the team will surely be lifted by this, the message would be straight that no matter what captain will always be on their side,” a source close the team management told InsideSport.

The 32-year-old will also have one on one sessions with each member in the team. The whole purpose of this act is to lift the morale of the team ahead of the Boxing Day Test and for the rest of the 4 match Test series as well.

Virat Kohli Will Be In Touch With Indian Team Through WhatsApp Group

Ajinkya Rahane, for the first time, will be leading India for the major part of the series in overseas conditions. He has previously led the side twice in Tests, against Australia at home and Afghanistan, and has come out winning both of them. But the situation is different and difficult this time around. The reports further suggest that even he also will speak to each team member personally motivating them and discuss their roles and responsibilities.

The source also further added on the same note that Virat Kohli will be in touch with the entire team through the WhatsApp group during his break induced by the birth of a child. The second Test between Australia and India is set to commence on December 26 and the visitors are expected to make a lot of changes to their playing XI.

Mohammed Siraj and Shubman Gill are set to debut while KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant will be back in Test fold. Mohammed Shami, Wriddhiman Saha, Prithvi Shaw and Virat Kohli will make way for the quartet.
