Vivian Richards: Sachin And Sangakkara have adjusted well to all three formats of cricket
Sir Vivian Richards feels that Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara are the two batsman of the modern era, who have adjusted pretty well to all the 3 formats of the game. In a column for ICC ahead of the World Cup, Richards wrote that it is all about making adjustments and ons should be smart enough to do that. Vivian Richards is currently working as the coach of Melbourne Stars in the BigBash.
However it was surprising to see the great West Indian leaving out the names like AB deVilliers, Hashim Amla and several others who have performed reasonably well in all the 3 formats.
Viv Richards also praised the aggressive on field behaviour of Virat Kohli and urged him to continue that. Talking about his own batting, he said that he never changed the outlook of his batting and remained positive throughout his career.
Vivian Richards was way ahead of his time in terms of striking the ball and hitting sixes, at a time when a sixes in the game were rare.
