India star Harmanpreet Kaur, on Saturday (March 18), pulled off a stunning one-handed catch during the Women’s Premier League clash between Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz.

Asked to bat first, Mumbai Indians could not really performed well with the bat as they were all out for a modest 127. Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia gave Mumbai a steady start by adding 30 runs for the first wicket before Anjali Sarvani castled the latter to give the Warriorz the first breakthrough.

From thereon, Mumbai kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually all out for 127. Matthews top-scored for the side, scoring 35 while Issy Wong (32) and Harmanpreet Kaur (25) also played crucial knocks.

In reply, UP Warrirorz were off to a poor start thanks to a stunning catch from Harmanpreet Kaur in the second over of the chase. On the first ball of the second over, Mathews bowled a flighted delivery outside the off stump before Devika Vaidya leaned forward for a drive.

The left-handed batter, however, could not make a good contact and ended up edging the ball behind the stumps. And before the ball could evade the fielders and land safely, Harmanpreet Kaur made a stunning dive towards her right side to take the catch with just one hand.

Here is a clip of the catch:

Talking about the game, the Warriorz were on 86 for 4 after 14 overs. They need 42 runs in the last 6 overs to inflict the first defeat of the tournament on Mumbai.

Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians running riot:

Harmanpreet Kaur’s team has been the best one in the WPL so far. They have won all of their first five games so far and are assured of a top-three finish. A win in two of their last three league matches would take their points tally to 14 which will be good enough to confirm their top finish in the standings.
