Ishant Sharma gave India the perfect start with the ball in the ongoing first Test against Australia in Adelaide.

Finch went for the drive very early in the innings and ended up paying a hefty price. Ishant bowled a fuller delivery which nipped back into Finch. In return, the Australia opener went for a full drive without covering the line of the ball. Consequently, he got an inside edge before the ball set the off and middle-stump cart-wheeling.

Coming to the game, India recovered from a disastrous start to post a respectable 250. India’s top-order failed to get going on day one as Australia pacers wreaked havoc. In fact, the Indian batsmen should blame themselves as they ended up playing poor shots to throw away their wickets. At one stage, India were reeling at 41 for 4. At that stage even a score of 150 was looking like a distant dream.
