Watch: World Cup-Winning Bowler Returns To Action After 4 Years

S Sreesanth’s fall from grace is as spectacular as his stunning bowling performances in India’s historic triumph in West Indies in 2006 and their first Test win in South Africa. The Kerela ace had become an integral part of the team in all the formats but the his world came crashing down when he along with his Rajasthan Royals teammates Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan was involved in match-fixing in May 2013. Consequently, the fast bowler was banned for life by the BCCI’s disciplinary committee in September.

But the bowler, it seems, is once again garnering hopes of bowling at the highest stage. A few days ago, there were reports that the BCCI had denied him an NOC to play in the Scotland Cricket League.

In 2015, Sreesanth was cleared of spot-fixing charges by a Delhi trial court due to insufficient evidence under the MCOCA act, a special law passed by the Maharashtra state government to tackle organised crime syndicates and terrorism. However, the BCCI is not allowing to get back to action since their decision was independent to any criminal proceeding and was based on its independent disciplinary action.

The bowler, nevertheless, has not been bogged down by the setback and has started his bowling practice. The 33-year old took to Twitter to upload a video where he could be seen bowling at a private cricket academy since he is also banned from using any BCCI infrastructure.
