‘Perennially hungry for chicken butter masala’– One will not associate this sentence with a cricketer who takes every possible step to remain fit but then again Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of those handfuls of players who have never cared about the conventional ideas and have reached the pinnacle of the game on their own terms.

Well, Dhoni, according to the bio on his Twitter profile’ is perennially hungry for butter chicken and his love for food is well known among the cricketing circles.

In fact, he is such a big foodie that he once changed his hotel along with his whole team when the hotel staffs did not allow him to have biriyani inside the hotel premises. The incident had occurred in 2014 when MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings were gearing up for the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Champions League T20 at Hyderabad.

The Super Kings were originally staying at the ITC Kakatiya but shifted to another hotel after Dhoni was angered by the hotel staff’s refusal to allow outside food which was home-cooked Hyderabadi biryani from Dhoni’s India teammate Ambati Rayudu’s residence. The hotel had allowed the players to eat the biriyani in the rooms but refused permission in the end after Dhoni wanted to hold the biryani party in the board room. Irked by the hotel’s rules, Dhoni wasted no time in shifting to another hotel with the whole team to have a peaceful biriyani party.
