‘Would Not Go to the IPL, Even if They Call Me’ – Shahid Afridi
Pakistan’s superstar, Shahid Afridi, in his recent stunt, hits back at the Indian Premier League (IPL) by claiming he won’t play in the number one league in the sport even if they asked him to.
The Pakistani stalwart recently had attracted a lot of attention due to his controversial tweet against the Indian Army.
“Even if they call me, I won’t go to the IPL. My PSL is the biggest, and there will be a time that it leaves the IPL behind. I am enjoying the PSL; I don’t have any need for the IPL. I’m not interested in it and never was” tweeted Saj Sadiq, renowned editor of PakPassion.
“Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self-determination & independence,” tweeted Afridi couple of days back.
“Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?,” continued the legendary Pakistani all-rounder.
No player from Pakistan was offered an IPL contract after 2008
However, also famous for being his patriotism and respect to the Indian Army, Gautam Gambhir, was quick to slam Afridi for his tweet.
“Media called me for reaction on @SAfridiOfficial tweet on OUR Kashmir & @UN. What’s there to say? Afridi is only looking for @UN which in his retarded dictionary means “UNDER NINETEEN” his age bracket. Also, media can relax, @SAfridiOfficial is celebrating a dismissal off a no- ball!!!,” Gambhir posted.
Further, supporting his partner from Delhi, Shikhar Dhawan also ensured Afridi did not get away with his remarks.
“Pehle khudke desh ki haalat sudharo. Apni soch apne paas rakho. Apne desh ka joh hum kar rahe hai woh acha hi hai aur aage jo karna hai woh humein ache se pata hai. Zyaada dimaag mat lagao @SAfridiOfficial,” Shikhar Dhawan slams Afridi.
