Speaking of the farewell game, Yuvraj Singh, himself, denied it. He wants to be on the field by performing better than the rest but not to get a farewell game. Yuvraj Singh was asked to prove his fitness by passing Yo-Yo Test. He did it but didn’t get the expected response from BCCI.

“I didn’t tell anyone in BCCI that I want a farewell game,” Yuvraj said. “If I had the potential, I would have left from the ground. I didn’t need a match. I was told that if I failed a Yo-Yo test then I can play a retirement match. I told them I don’t need the game, if I don’t pass the Yo-Yo test, I’ll go home quietly. I passed the Yo-Yo Test and rest is not my call.”

However, Yuvraj played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is for India. He put together 1900 runs in the longest format, and 8701 in the one-dayers, the format in which he enjoyed the most success. His one-day runs tally places him 22nd in the overall list and seventh among Indians.
