Yet another Indian stalwart player reacts on the shameful incident that took place in Christchurch, New Zealand. Yuvraj Singh gave his thoughts on the incident and on the people, who affected by it. Earlier, the International Cricket Council and the Indian skipper Virat Kohli also condemned the ghastly act.

A group of men shot people dead at Christchurch. There were active shooters near a mosque in New Zealand, who started firing at the innocent people.

During the attack, the Bangladesh Cricket Team, who are being hosted by New Zealand for bilateral series were saved by the protection force. They were immediately taken off from the premises to ensure them that they are in safe hands. As a safety measure, the third Test at Hagley Oval has been cancelled.

Terrorism has no religion – Yuvraj Singh

Speaking of the incident, Yuvraj Singh quoted that there is no religion attached to the Terrorist activities. Further, he called the incident is such a shame, as it happened in such a peaceful place, where people visit to offer their prayers.

”Truly terrorism has no religion, ethnicity or faith. Attacking innocent people during prayers is a shameful act. Hate & violence should not be tolerated at all. Thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims,” Yuvraj Singh quoted.

Thankfully, Bangladesh Cricketers escaped from the attack. They were about to enter the mosque to take their prayers, however, they quickly entered back in the bus after witnessing the attack right in front of them. After a couple of minutes, they were moved to Hagley Oval Park and then into their dressing room.

Bangladesh has been touring New Zealand since last month. They lost the one-day international series 3-0 and have also lost the three-Test series after New Zealand claimed victory in the opening two matches.

The incident took place on Friday, as Muslims will be present in large number during that day of the week. Meanwhile, the respective boards of Bangladesh and New Zealand called off third Test match.
