Zimbabwe vs India: 1st T20 MID-INNINGS REPORT- Indians sets up a challenging total

In the first T20 match between Zimbabwe and India, the visitors won the toss and after deciding to bat first, imposed a challenging total of 178/5 after their full quota of 20 overs.

For India, Sandeep Sharma and Stuart Binny were making their T20 debut.

Both the Indian openers, led by skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Murali Vijay gave India a flying start. Vijay(39) looked to be in cracking form but was unfortunate to get out off a direct throw from Sikanadar Raza. Rahane(33) and Robin Uthappa(39*) steadied the Indian innings. They were complemented by Manish Pandey(19), Stuart Binny(11) and Harbhajan Singh(8*) who played a handy knock towards the end.

Amongst the Zimbabwean bowlers, Christopher Mpofu was the pick of the bowlers who took 3 wickets.

Zimbabwe has to chase now 179 to win the match.
