Fourth Ashes Test, Boxing Day Test, Melbourne

Australia won the toss and chose to bat first and finished day one on 244/3. The day belonged to Australian opener David Warner who was lucky to complete his 21st Test century. Debutant Tom Curran took Warner’s wicket on 99 but replays showed that the fast bowler had overstepped which cut short Curran’s celebrations by picking up his first Test wicket. Steven Smith completed yet another half-century in the series as he at the crease on 65 with Shaun Marsh who is unbeaten on 31. James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes picked up a wicket each.
New Zealand vs Windies, 3rd ODI, Christchurch
Kiwis completed a comprehensive white-wash over the touring Windies side as they won the third and final ODI by 66 runs. New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first in a rain-curtailed match as the match was cut short to 23 overs per side. Kiwi’s scored 131/4 in their innings. The target was then revised to 166 because of the Duckworth-Lewis method. The Windies could only manage 99/9. Ross Taylor was adjudged the man of the match for his unbeaten 47 while Trent Boult was adjudged the man of the series. The two teams will play a three-match T20 series scheduled to begin from 29th December.
