Former England striker Alan Shearer has brutally trolled Germany after their humiliating exit from the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. For the second World Cup in a row, the Germans failed to progress ahead of the group stage.
In their final group game, they came from behind to beat Costa Rica by 4-2 but with the result of the other group game between Japan and Spain not going their way, the win could not ensure a passage to the next round.
Germany bowed out of the tournament on goal difference. In the other group game, Japan stunned Spain by 2-1 to finish as the topper of the group.
Germany took the lead in the 10th minute through Serge Gnabry’s header before Costa Rica scored two goals in the second half to raise the remarkable possibility of Spain also going out. Yeltsin Tejeda hit the equaliser in the 58th minute before a Manuel Neuer own goal saw Costa Rica take the lead.
At that stage, Costa Rica were going through with Japan, while Germany and Spain were heading for the exit. Costa Rica’s hopes, however, were ended by substitute Kai Havertz who scored twice to fire Germany to lead before fellow substitute Niclas Fullkrug added a last-minute fourth to confirm victory.

Alan Shearer trolls Germany:
With Germany suffering the humiliating exit, Alan Shearer could not stop himself from having a laugh at their expense. The Newcastle United legend rubbed salt on Germany’s wounds by posting a hilarious clip on Twitter.
As soon as Germany’s departure was confirmed, Shearer took to Twitter to post the clip in which he and his fellow pundits Gary Linekar and Micah Richards could be seen laughing. He captioned the video: “Germany are out of the #FIFAWorldCup in the group stage!!”
