Nothing went right for Ghana in a nightmare first half against Uruguay as they find themselves on the verge of exiting the 2022 FIFA World Cup at group stage.
Ghana missed a penalty before conceding twice to find themselves 0-2 down at the break. And as if that was not enough, the player who caused most of the problems for them was none other than Luis Suarez, the same man who shattered their dreams 12 years ago in the 2010 World Cup.

Suarez had become the public enemy number one in Ghana 12 years ago when his famous handball had stopped the African country from becoming the first team from their continent to make it to the World Cup semifinal. That very handball was the talk of the town before the game started and even Suarez was asked about it.
Speaking at the pre-match presser, the Uruguay star made it clear that he had no regrets over the incident and instead blamed Ghana for missing the penalty.
Luis Suarez on fire:
All eyes were on Luis Suarez when both the teams took the field and Uruguay coach Diego Alonso ensured that his veteran striker gets the attention by naming him the captain. And the captain went on to deliver in the must-win clash.
After Andrew Ayew missed a penalty, Suarez assisted both the goals for his side with Giorgian de Arrascaeta being the scorer on both the occasions. Suarez also rolled back the years by pulling off a stunning nutmeg towards the end of the first half.
Luis Suarez today = 🔥🔥🔥

Instead, Suarez still tormenting them, an entire generation later. A dozen years later and still can't take a proper penalty under pressure is not Suarez's fault. https://t.co/xYrwV7tfB2

Luis Suárez is running like a young man – he draws strength from this fixture like Lord Sauron draws strength from the Ring.
