Group C

Guinea held to a draw with a late goal

Costa Rica 2 (Yecxy Jarquin 26′; Andres Gomez 67′) – Guinea 2 (Fandje Toure 30′; Ibrahima Soumah 81′)

Coming from the behind twice, Guinea managed to snatch a 2-2 draw against Costa Rica.

On 26 minutes, Yecxy Jarquin put Costa Rica 1-0 ahead from the Andre Gomez’s grounded cross. Just 4 minutes later, Fandje Toure levelled the scoreline for Guinea with a close-range effort.

On 67 minutes, Costa Rica regained their lead through the Andres Gomez’s header. After a long effort, Ibrahima Soumah equalised the scoreline (2-2) for Guinea on 81 minutes which was also the final scoreline.

Guinea played a dominant football, especially in the second half. In the entire match, Guinea produced total 42 shots and out of those 14 were on targets. Meanwhile, Costa Rica had five shots on goal out of their eight shots.

 

Iran shocked Germany with a dominating victory

Iran 4 (Younes Delfi 6′ & 42′; Allahyar Sayyad 49′; Vahid Namdari 75′) – Germany 0

Iran snatched a surprising 4-0 victory against Germany. Iran earned their 1-0 lead in the early minute as Younes Delfi opened their account on just 6 minutes. He also scored the second goal just before the half-time (42’) from the following set-piece delivery.

On just 4 minutes of the second half, Allahyar Sayyad made the scoreline 3-0 for Iran through a header from the Younes Delfi’s cross. Vahid Namdari scored the fourth goal for Iran on 75 minutes from Saeid Karimi’s pass.

Iran also had some chances to add more goals while Germany’s few opportunities failed to create any trouble for Iran.

Group D

Spain thrashed Niger

Spain 4 (Abel Ruiz 21′ & 41′; Cesar Gelabert 45’+1′; Sergio Gomez 82′) – Niger 0

Spain thrashed Niger by a 4-0 margin. Abel Ruiz scored the first two goals on 21 minutes and 41 minutes respectively which was extended by Cesar Gelabert in the injury time of the first half to make a 3-0 lead.

Sergio Gomez added another goal on 82 minutes as the 2017 UEFA Under-17 Euro winners clinched a 4-0 victory without facing any trouble.

 

Brazil beat North Korea

North Korea 0 – Brazil 2 (Lincoln Correa dos Santos 56′; Paulinho 61′)

Brazil beat North Korea by 2-0. After a hard fight, Lincoln Correa dos Santos broke the deadlock for Brazil on 56 minutes through a header after the defensive wall blocked the following free-kick.

Soon after, Paulinho extended the scoreline for Brazil to 2-0 on 61 minutes and that was unharmed till the end of the game.
