Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain To Leave Arsenal As Liverpool Ready Massive Bid
Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will tell the club that he wants to leave with Liverpool considered his favoured destination, according to the reports.
Sunday Times reports that the English international have made a decision on his future during his post-season holiday and believes a move away from the club would help his progress as a player.
The 23-year old has been an important player for Arsene Wenger as he can play in numerous positions across midfield and can also work as a wing back if needed.
Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to make some massive signings for the club after losing out in pursuit of Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk and German club RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita. The Reds are considered favourites to sign the midfielder despite interest from both Manchester City and Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Oxlade-Chamberlain had already expressed his dissatisfaction over playing as a wing back for Arsenal during the final stages of last season after their 2-1 win against Chelsea in FA Cup final. Oxlade-Chamberlain has only one year left in his contract with Arsenal and Arsene Wenger have not made any serious attempt to tie him down with a new deal.
The Englishman had moved to Arsenal from Southampton in 2011 and have become a firm favorite among fans in the recent years. The player is currently looking for a new club and Arsenal are believed to be holding out for a fee around £25 million to let Oxlade-Chamberlain leave.
Liverpool are in the market to sign a new winger and are close to signing Mohamed Salah from Roma in a record deal. Jurgen Klopp is determined to strengthen his squad for the upcoming season as the club are set to play their first Champions League season under German.
He will be looking to make an impact in the elite competition. They will also be looking to challenge for Premier League as they have put in a valiant effort last season but had suffered an unusual slump in January to be left out of title race.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also looking to make a record move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette who is valued at £60m by the French club.
