Alexis Sanchez Reveals What He Learnt From Lionel Messi That Is Still Helping Him

Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez has had a tough time at the Emirates this season.

He has been in terrific form in front of goal but has just not been able to win games for his side. The problems in the squad all around have played a part in the recent slump for Arsenal and Alexis Sanchez has been an unfortunate victim of this form.

The Chilean is still doing all he can for the Gunners but their 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace at the Emirates was just too painful for the players also and that could be the final nail in the coffin.

However, you could bet on Sanchez coming out in the next game and giving it his all to win the game for his side.

That is a mentality that not many have and is not something that can be attained easily.

The Chilean has plenty of it and he has revealed where he got it from.

Speaking to one of the club’s journos, Sanchez explained that he learned to strive to be the best where ever he plays, thanks to one Lionel Messi.

Speaking to Arsenal Player, Sanchez revealed the mentality the Argentine hitman plays with regularly.

“I think he has an incredible winning mentality,” Alexis told Arsenal Player.

“He says ‘Here I am and I am the best’. That attitude means not only that he’s a brilliant footballer but also that he can get better.

“He has such a strong mental attitude and when he steps on the pitch he declares ‘I’m the best and I’ll prove it’.

“That’s how players should be. That’s how I feel and I’m sure plenty of other players are the same.

“You want to be the best because you want to show that you are the best. You have to think like that,” he added.

The 28-year old is right up there with the best in the business at the moment but it has not been easy for him toiling at the Emirates.

He is the most important player of the club and is their talisman, but he and his team have not been able to lift either the league title or a trophy in Europe.

Sanchez has won just the FA Cup in his time in England, compared to the six major trophies that he won alongside Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou.

Sanchez was with the Catalan giants from 2011 to 2014 and what he has learnt from Messi seems to be helping him even a couple of years later.
