Arsenal are willing to let Alexis Sanchez leave to Manchester City this summer but the Citizens need to fork out £80million to sign him, according to reports.
Top Class Forward in Premier League
Alexis is undoubtedly the best player for Arsenal and one of the best players in entire Premier League last season and the 28-year old has expressed his frustration of not winning titles with the club as he is tipped to make a move to their league rivals Manchester City.
The winger only has one year left on his contract with Arsenal and has drawn interest from numerous clubs and was linked with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Juventus since the start of summer.
He had scored an impressive 30 goals and made 19 assists for Arsenal last season. However, Arsenal have tried to let him leave for a club abroad which has not happened. Bayern Munich, who were considered firm favorites to land the Chilean international have officially dropped their interest after Sanchez’s 25m euro salary demands per year.
Pep Guardiola Reunion?
Sanchez had always spoke high of his former manager Pep Guardiola as he is a huge admirer of the Catalan since their time together at Barcelona.
The Spanish tactician is also keen to be reunited with Sanchez as he looks to win the Premier League next season to prove his doubters wrong. Manchester City, arguably has the best squad in the league right now and the addition of Alexis Sanchez would help them become one of the heavyweights in Europe.
But Arsenal are ready to risk to let Alexis Sanchez leave for free if Manchester City do not meet their asking price of £80m, according to Daily Mirror.
The Gunners had failed to finish in the top foure for the first time in over two decades and will play in Europa League next season. The club have also offered a new contract worth £300,000-per-week but Sanchez have rejected it as he eyes a move to Etihad.
However, Manchester City are not willing to meet the asking price as they will try their luck with a £50million bid. The London based club are also getting ready for life after Sanchez as Wenger signed Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon and could very well land both Thomas Lemar (AS Monaco) and Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City) in the coming days.
