Arsenal Submit Huge Bid To Sign Real Madrid Star Jmaes Rodriguez
Arsenal are leading the race to sign Colombian forward James Rodriguez as they are one of the two teams that have tabled an offer, according to reports in Spain.
The 25-year old is one of the big players that are available in the market this summer after falling out with current Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who has overlooked the Colombian throughout the season. He is expected to leave the club after being left out from the squad for Champions League final.
Having joined Real in the summer of 2014, James has earned a name for himself under then manager Carlo Ancelotti but his career has come to a still since Zidane took in charge. He is eager to move away and the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Chelsea are all linked with a move for his services.
According to Spanish television show El Chiringuito, Arsenal are leading the chase to sign the talented play maker as the Gunners have submitted an offer which is close to Real Madrid’s evaluation of €80 million (£69.8m).
There are one of the two clubs to make an official bid for Colombian with the other being Italian giants Inter Milan. However, Inter Milan’s bid is too low to draw the interest from Spanish club and Arsenal could make the signing this summer.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has promised fans that he would bring in world class signings this summer as he looks to build a squad that will be competing for Premier League next season. The club have missed out on Champions League for the first time in two decades and Wenger is alraedy linked with a world record move to Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe and Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
James Rodriguez could also tilt in favor of Arsenal as the Colombian got married to the sister of Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Ospina which could play a massive role in his decision over his future. The 25-year old has earlier admitted that he could leave Real Madrid and will surely leave the club after the recent events.
‘I can’t assure I will stay at Real Madrid,’ he said after Real won the Club World Cup in December. ‘I have offers and seven days left to think about my future.
‘I am happy in Madrid, but I want to play more. I have a bitter feeling as I wanted to play the final, but I am happy for the title. It’s the 15th title in my career.’
